Producer, musician, and Pro Tools expert Dave Franz is teaching a cool class on Pro Tools 8 as part of the curriculum for Berklee College of Music's online school, Berkleemusic. Franz, who has written three Berklee Press books on recording and producing with Pro Tools, is the instructor for Pro Tools: Virtual Instruments and Effects. The next 12-week course begins June 28.

Watch the video below to discover what you'll learn in the class and how you'll interact with Franz and other students via your own Pro Tools sessions, online chats, and discussion forums. In addition to digging into inner workings of the Pro Tools 8 instruments (including Boom, Vacuum, and Xpand!2) and effects (with lessons on EQ, compression, reverb, and more) Franz will also dig into the signature sounds of other artists. From Michael Jackson's "Beat It" to sounds from Radiohead, Stevie Wonder and more, Franz will reveal how those artists made their sounds and show you how to replicate them, all to give you the tools to create your own unique sounds.
