We stopped in to the Badass Guitar Apps panel where moderator Laura Whitmore (Mad Sun Marketing) herded the conversation with Brad Tolinski (editor of our sister mag, Guitar World), Jeff Klein (guitarist, My Jerusalem), Scott Roth (GuitarToolKit, AmpKit) and Harold Lee (Rock Prodigy). Whitmore’s questions ranged from “What’s your next top secret app or revision coming down the line?” to “Apps: Geeky or sexy?” The answer? Geeky IS the new sexy!

Klein contributed from a performer’s perspective, remarking that he found using his phone ideal for on-the-road practice and as an idea-capturing tool. Tolinski offered that when creating a new app, it’s best to “focus on one simple idea and then execute that idea really, really well.” Lee and Roth both spoke from the developer’s point-of-view, stating, “This is just the tip of the iceberg. There is so much more we can do with apps and devices. We’ve only just begun.”
