1. Use your most popular videos to promote other videos on your channel
Once your video channel is established, you'll eventually get a good idea of which of your videos has the most viewers. These popular videos act as "front doors" to your entire channel. They're the most likely way a random viewer will discover you and your videos. Each view of your popular video is a billboard to point viewers to other videos you've made. Use YouTube tools like annotations, the video description, and banners to promote your other videos. You've caught their eyeballs, so don't let their attention go to waste.
2. Use annotations and links to cross-promote your other videos
Each time a video ends, you want the recommendation engine to suggest another one of your videos. A good way to help with this is to create annotations near the end of the video that suggests another video of yours the viewer should check out. Also, use your video description to cross-link other videos you've made that are similar or related. This helps YouTube relate your videos to each other in its "suggested videos" section. Promoting music or videos based on its topic or what it's about is one of the most effective ways to get it in front of new people. The web is a sharing platform -- videos can be shared on any site, anywhere. Having a list of links to your most popular videos at-the-ready so you can share, submit, embed, or post them elsewhere on the web is a good way to promote them, increase views, and grow your audience. Sometimes, the right post to Reddit or a message board can plant the seed that blows it up.
Finally, don't ignore the stats YouTube provides its content creators. Keeping an eye on views, engagement, and keywords for your videos can help you better understand your reach as well as help you test out improvements to your promotion techniques and see which are the most effective.
