Sounds And Effects has released "Synths of the 1970s" ($49.95) for Native Instruments Kontakt 2. The source material was recorded at 24-bit, 44.1 kHz quality from the a number of instruments, including the Mini Moog, ARP 2600, Moog Opus 3, ARP Odyssey, and Oberheim SEM.

The collection—developed by former E-Mu sound developer Terry Grame—was meant to be more of a virtual sound module than a sample collection. "Synths of the 1970s" used synthesizer sounds as source material to create new sounds with Kontakt''s synthesis engine. In all, the new release has 400 MB of content and 150 presets.
