Tascam has announced GigaStudio 3.0 (Win). The update to this popular sampler includes support for 24-bit, 96 kHz audio; support for ReWire and VST effects; and expanded polyphony.

GigaStudio 3.0 is available in three versions: Orchestra, Ensemble, and Solo. The program has been completely redesigned, offering a new editing and mixing interface that includes the Quick Edit feature. The DSP Station Giga Mixer has also been revamped and offers 4-band parametric EQ and compression on every channel, eight aux sends, 128 channels, and up to 32 stereo groups.

GigaStudio 3.0 also includes GigaPulse convolution reverb, as well as a sound and sample library. The Orchestra version comes with GigaPulse Pro, which allows you to place an instrument in a specific location in a given room, using the program's surround-sampling engine.
