Sibelius Software Introduces SibeliusMusic Stores

By | Wed, 29 Sep 2004

Sibelius Software has introduced SibeliusMusic Stores, an online self-publishing service that allows small publishers, composers, and arrangers to sell music in an inexpensive, easy-to-use, and secure environment.

An individual''s store can be customized to best fit their own image or brand identity. Musical scores authored in Sibelius or Sibelius G7 software can be played back using the free Sibelius Scorch download, which lets users view, play, and print Sibelius scores over the Internet.

Score files on SibeliusMusic.com are securely encrypted and reside on Sibelius'' servers for convenience and protection. Self-publishers can choose to make their scores available for sale or free of charge. While SibeliusMusic.com provides the tools to sell and promote music, composers retain total control and copyright.

The Sibelius Scorch plug-in allows the user to interact with the music directly from their Web browser. They can view, play back, print, transpose, and even change the instrumentation. SibeliusMusic.com is licensed by the Performing Rights Society (PRS) on behalf of The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), BMI, GEMA, and other performing rights societies worldwide.
