Digidesign has announced Pro Tools 6.7 software, which adds (among other things) MIDI Detective and Beat Detective LE. MIDI Detective can be used to generate tempo maps and groove templates directly from “free” MIDI performances. Beat Detective LE lets Pro Tools LE users take advantage of many of the Beat Detective features previously available to TDM users only.

In addition, the audio and MIDI feature set in Pro Tools 6.7 has been expanded to include tempo-dependent audio placement and automation, graphic tempo editing, control over meter changes, MIDI step input, and enhanced support for instrument plug-ins. Digidesign adds that the update brings cross-platform parity for simplified session transfers with major MIDI functionality enhancements to Windows.

Other enhancements include support for RTAS instruments on TDM Aux inputs, support for multiple plug-in outputs, a MIDI Step Input window, and a new Undo History window. For more details about Pro Tools 6.7, visit the Digidesign Web site.
