M-Audio has introduced two new condenser microphones: Pulsar and the Aries. Pulsar ($129.95) features a cardioid pattern, transformerless Class A FET electronics, and a 6-micron evaporated gold diaphragm mounted in a solid brass capsule. The frequency response is 20 Hz to 20 kHz, and Pulsar can handle a maximum SPL of 134 dB.

The Aries ($149.95) is a vocal mic designed for hand-held, live use. The mic also has Class A transformerless FET electronics, with a solid brass capsule and a 6-micron evaporated gold diaphragm.
