Roland is Shipping the Juno-D

By | Wed, 03 Nov 2004

Roland is shipping the Juno-D, a synthesizer featuring an array of multi-effects, real-time performance controllers, and tools for groove creation and composition. The synth includes 640 sounds and 20 rhythm sets. Sounds can be layered and split across the keyboard for performance and sequencing applications, and a computer editor (Mac/Win) is included.

A host of performance-oriented features are built into the Juno-D, including a phrase and arpeggio generator, and a Multi Chord memory function, which lets you play a chord by touching a single key. You can assign all 12 notes in an octave to play different chords, and then save them as a set. A Rhythm Guide metronome with real drum sounds is also built in; preset patterns and variations are provided.

The Juno-D includes a 61-note Velocity-sensitive keyboard, with a D-Beam controller, pitch/modulation lever, and five front-panel knobs. The keyboard also accepts a pedal and footswitches such as Roland''s DP-2 and DP-8, the Boss FS-5U, or EV-5 expression pedal. For more information, visit Roland's Web site.
