The MXL MicMate USB microphone preamp is now available.

The MicMate ($79.95; Mac/Win) is a USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 plug-and-play device that requires no special drivers. It provides phantom power to condenser mics from the host's USB port, and features Delta Sigma A/D converters in the digital section, 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz sample rates, and a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response. The pocket-sized unit also has a three-position gain selector switch and comes with free MXL USB Recorder software.
