Waves has introduced V5 (version 5), which offers new builds of the company's entire line of plug-ins for Mac OS-X and Windows. Waves Musicians Bundle II is also introduced in this release. V5 is available at no additional charge to any user currently covered by the Waves Update Plan (WUP).

Among the many additions to V5 are Tempo Sync and Morphoder MIDI Control. Waves has also noted that Mac OS 9 is no longer supported in Waves V5. Mac OS 9 users should contact Waves sales at (865) 909-9200 for information about relevant product versions for this OS.

WUP gives you access to Waves version 5, as well as version updates for a full year on all the products you have registered in your account. WUP pricing is scaled to what you own, and it is available directly in your Waves account or through your Waves dealer.

Musicians Bundle II includes Renaissance Compressor, Renaissance EQ, SuperTap delay, and Doubler. Renaissance Compressor features ARC (Auto Release Control) and Opto/Electro modes with a brickwall (L1 style) limiter on the output. Doubler is a double-tracking effect that uses delay and pitch modulation. SuperTap features six multi-tap delays with up to six seconds of true mono or stereo delay, EQ-style filtering, rotation, gain, and time control. The bundle supports RTAS, AudioSuite, VST, DirectX, and MAS.
