Digidesign has announced Smack! ($595), a compressor/limiter plug-in, and the MassivePack 3 plug-in bundle. According to Digidesign, Smack! features three compression modes and unique compression ratios. The plug-in supports Digidesign and Avid software, side-chain processing, multi-channel track types, the full range of Pro Tools sample rates, as well as the AudioSuite, RTAS, and TDM plug-in formats. Smack! LE ($395) supports the AudioSuite and RTAS formats, as well as Pro Tools LE and Avid software.

The MassivePack 3 (Mac/Win; $1,195) plug-in bundle includes Digidesign Smack!, Line 6 Echo Farm, McDSP FilterBank and MC2000, Eventide H949 Harmonizer, Massenburg DesignWorks MDW High-Res Parametric EQ, Sony Oxford OXF-R3 EQ, Bomb Factory Slightly Rude Compressor, and SoundToys SoundBlender. MassivePack Pro 3 ($3,495) adds an HD Accel card to the plug-in bundle and is available for owners of registered Pro Tools|HD Accel systems.
