XO Audio has released the latest version of its freeware digital audio software package, XO Wave, for Mac OS X and Linux. Still in beta, XO Wave 0.19.0 offers a host of audio and post-production capabilities as well as several new features and bug fixes.

In addition to CD-mastering, audio-recording, sound-editing, and podcast functionality, XO Wave now packages gain matrix and envelope generator effects, more flexible licensing for educational institutions, and a redesigned interface. The software also features improvements to metering, import/export dialogs, and ripple and query modes.

XO Wave 0.19.0 is available as a free download. A Pro shareware edition is also available for $85. Customers who purchase XO Wave Pro will be eligible for a free upgrade to XO Wave 1.0.
