Superlux R102

Avlex has released the Superlux E531/BCS ($49) mid side stereo field recording microphone, as well as the Superlux R102 aluminum ribbon microphone ($399).

The E531/BCS features mid side configuration (a cardioid polar pattern for its mid section and a figure-8 polar pattern for its side), battery-powered operation, a 3.5 mm stereo mini plug, a frequency response of 100 Hz to 15 kHz, and a switch that allows you to flip between 90- and 120-degree coverage patterns. Supplied accessories include a microphone stand clip and a foam windscreen.

The R102 features an aluminum ribbon consisting of an electro-magnetic transducer and an impedance-converting circuit, a frequency response of 20 Hz to 15 kHz, and 140 dB SPL. The microphone includes a dual core shielded cable and a microphone stand adapter, with an optional HM-31 high-isolation shockmount.
