The Flaming Lips Announce Tour Dates

The Flaming Lips have confirmed a string of North American tour dates beginning next month in support of their current album, Embryonic. Confirmed dates are listed below:

March 6, Snow Ball Fest / Nottingham Park, Avon, CO
May 13, The Fillmore Detroit, Detroit, MI
May 14, Nelsonville Music Festival, Nelsonville, OH
May 15, The National, Richmond, VA
May 20, Tabernacle, Atlanta, GA (Special performance of "The Soft Bulletin" and more)
May 21, The Hangout Festival, Gulf Shores, AL
May 26, Primavera Festival, Barcelona, Spain
May 29, Sasquatch Festival / The Gorge, George, WA (Special performance of "The Soft Bulletin" and more)
July 1, All Tomorrow's Parties / Alexandra Palace, London, UK (Special performance of "The Soft Bulletin" and more)
July 7, Aragon Ballroom, Chicago, IL (Special performance of "The Soft Bulletin" and more)

The band has also announced the release of "Heady Nuggs: The First 5 Warner Bros. Records 1992 - 2002," set for release on Record Store Day, April 16, 2011, and will be composed of the complete recordings of: Hit To Death In The Future Head (1992), Transmissions From The Satellite Heart (1993), Clouds Taste Metallic (1995), The Soft Bulletin (1990), and the Grammy Award-winning, Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots (2002).flaming lips heady nuggs

There will be two different editions of this vinyl only Box Sets: The "Standard" Record Store Day Edition, which features all 5 discs pressed on black 140gram vinyl, as well as a "Special Limited Edition," featuring all 5 discs pressed on 5 different colors of colored vinyl available only thought the Lips official Web store,

Both editions will be extremely limited and once they are gone, they are gone. The Flaming Lips have plenty of surprises planned for the months ahead so keep an eye on for details.
