We scooped the world on this in last issue of EQ and the world was glad for both the leg up and Reason 3.0 ($TBA), a pretty major update to its flagship music software system. Claims for the new version, up to and including the better-than-sliced-bread boast, nimbly take Reason “from the studio realm to the stage,” and feature the Combinator, a new module that lets users build chains of Reason instruments, effects, patterns, and so on, and save them as combi patches. Other new features include 1-step loading of customizable instruments, out-of-the-box compatibility with most major control surfaces, an expanded soundbank, an optimized browser, and the MClass mastering suite. Cool.
