Ableton has released Orchestral Instruments, four sampled-instrument collections that represent the four sections of an orchestra: strings, brass, woodwinds, and percussion.

Available individually ($159 to $189 each) or bundled ($599), the instrument collections integrate with Ableton Live and offer professional sounds recorded in myriad Velocities and articulations.

The included instruments are as follows: violin, viola, cello, double bass, French horn, trombone, trumpet, tuba, flute, clarinet, bassoon, oboe, English horn, vibraphone, marimba, xylophone, crotales, glockenspiel, tubular bells, cymbals, and timpani. Many of the instruments are provided in both solo and ensemble variations in multiple articulations, and all instruments come in both a high-fidelity version for studio production and a lower-fidelity configuration for decreased overhead and instant performance.

The Orchestral Instruments, which were produced in part with Sonivox, are available from the Ableton Web shop.
