DigiTech has announced the HarmonyMan ($449.95), an intelligent pitch shifter guitar effects pedal that generates live three-part guitar harmony over lead/solo playing.

According to the manufacturer, the HarmonyMan is the first guitar pedal to produce multipart guitar harmonies on guitar solos by analyzing the chords played before the solo. You can perform your favorite songs and then hit the harmony footswitch at the start of a solo to have the unit create accompanying harmony. Like the DigiTech Vocalist, the HarmonyMan utilizes musIQ technology.

Other features for the unit include intelligent pitch shifting; a key display that updates itself with the key that the HarmonyMan is currently using for harmonization; independently selectable voicings for each harmony; a Strum Key that lets you set the key of a song by strumming chords; musIQ Sidechain Input/Thru; voice memory; a Pre-Harmony Distortion Loop; a built-in guitar tuner; and much more. The HarmonyMan has balanced stereo 1/4-inch outputs and it built in rugged, all-metal chassis.

Expect the unit to be available in May, 2008. Learn more at www.digitech.com.
