Sound Devices is now shipping the CL-8 Controller, a mixing control surface designed to complement the company''s new 788T digital 8-track recorder.

The CL-8 offers eight large, rotary faders to control the eight inputs of the 788T; it also controls a number of input settings, including highpass filter, limiter, and polarity. The CL-8 also provides fader control, manages the 788T''s built-in slate mic, and allows users to quickly assign inputs to the main left and right record tracks. The controller is connected to the recorder via USB connection, and it includes a USB keyboard pass-through port.
