Universal Audio has released the LA-610 Mk II Classic Tube Recording Channel ($1,999 MSRP, $1,599 MAP), a new and improved version of the company's original LA-610.

The unit has a preamp and compressor that use the same signal path as the original LA-610, and it also features the 610 mic-pre and EQ section combined with an LA-2A style T4 opto-compressor. The LA-610 Mk II provides a number of improvements over the original LA-610, including true compressor bypass, larger metering, better output signal performance, and the “black on black” cosmetics of the LA-610 Signature Edition.
