RBMA BASS CAMP
In its premiere year of partnership, Red Bull Music Academy and Bonnaroo have teamed up to host the after hours RBMA Stage as well as an RBMA Bass Camp which includes a public lecture, hosted by Jeff "Chairman" Mao, with Mannie Fresh on Saturday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on the Solar Stage.
Mannie Fresh’s lecture is the public portion of this year’s RBMA Bass Camp in Tennessee. RBMA Bass Camp is a program of music workshops and studio sessions for a select group of up & coming local music makers, designed to facilitate creation and collaboration. Private lectures at the RBMA Bass Camp include Thundercat, Francois K, Vance Powell, lead engineer at Blackbird Studio and Third Man Records, and more, with Jeff "Chairman" Mao serving as lecture and radio host. The inspiring three-day program functions as a miniature version of the full Red Bull Music Academy experience, set to take part in Tokyo later this year.
Twenty local artists haling from all over the South have been handpicked to participate in this Bass Camp edition, and will take part in studio workshops, join recording sessions and perform live at the festival. The permanent on-site recording studios custom built by The Bunkie Co will offer Bass Camp participants the opportunity to create new music throughout Bonnaroo weekend.
