is making its message heard throughout New York City with a number of planned activities this Spring to help foster music education. Casio’s New York City music initiatives include a product donation to the Department of Education and participation in the upcoming Make Music New York event.

This Spring, Casio donated a Celviano AP-450 digital piano
to the Department of Education in New York City. The AP-450 was accepted by Barbara Murray, Director of Music, on behalf of the Office of Arts and Special Projects at the Department of Education. The digital piano will be located in the Tweed Courthouse with a plaque describing the donation. Among the many exciting opportunities to infuse live music into the building will be student lunchtime concerts, performances at parent and community gatherings, and events recognizing student achievement.

In addition to the product donation, Casio will be taking its musical instruments to the streets of New York on June 21st. In celebration of National Music Day, Casio is sponsoring the 8th annual Make Music New York event. Make Music New York is known as one of the nation’s largest annual music event, as it holds over 1,000 live concerts and creates music and harmony throughout the city. From high school bands to marquee acts, Make Music New York is a true celebration of music and it is open to anyone that wants to take part in the festivities, free of charge. This year, Casio will return with its’ portable Privia Piano Bar, which features a traveling pianist playing live music with its popular Privia Pro PX-5S digital piano.
