Digital Audio Wave has announced the addition of the DAWin-64M to its product line of specialized multimedia computer systems. The DAWin-64M is powered by a 32- and 64-bit capable AMD Athlon 64 processor for desktop replacement (DTR) notebooks and an ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 (M10-P) graphics accelerator chip with 64 MB DDR video RAM.

The company says that "the large memory address space available with the DAWin-64M allows the digital audio engineer or composer to access virtual instruments and sample libraries from physical memory, eliminating the need for multiple PCs or peripheral instruments and increasing productivity."

Some of the DAWin-64M system's features include 512 MB of on-board memory (expandable up to 1024 MB); a 24X24X8X24 Optical Combo drive or optional Super Combo DVD-RW Optical drive; and a 40, 60, or 80 GB hard drive at 5400 or 7200 rpm.
