Dream Theater keyboardist Jordan Rudess has announced a PledgeMusic campaign to support a unique solo project that fuses together new music, videos, and groundbreaking technology for a transcendent interactive experience. This marks Rudess' first solo release in 3 years, and it's based around 2 core pieces-an adventurous orchestral composition titled "Explorations" and a richly expressive solo piano album called Explores.

"Things have changed so much in the music business in recent years. Now we have the possibility of coming directly to all of you, the fans, to get involved and to be a part of making this happen," he says. "No longer are we subject to what was, rather, what is possible!"

Rudess' astonishing career began when he attended Juilliard School of Music for classical piano training at age 9. After critical acclaim and accolades for his stunning virtuosity, he found a creative home with the Grammy nominated prog-metal band Dream Theater. In addition to the group, he has worked with everyone from Porcupine Tree's Steven Wilson to the legendary Dixie Dregs to David Bowie. Parallel to these accomplishments, he's excelled in the field of technology and is currently the founder of Wizdom Music (www.wizdommusic.com), an award-winning apps developer. Both facets of his creativity factor into this landmark release: The orchestral piece, "Explorations," will feature an entirely virtual orchestral experience, and the solo piano album, Explores, will be created as a completely interactive iOS app experience, in addition to being made available in a CD and digital download format.

Pledgers will get to experience exclusive videos, tracks, photos, and blogs chronicling the making of the album, as well early access to the full album before street date. Rudess is also offering campaign contributors apps that allow them to be part of the music, CDs, DVDs, T-shirts, posters, online concerts, a custom improv piece, their name in the album credits, Dream Theater tickets and after-show passes, a Jordan Rudess guest appearance on their album, house concerts, and an Executive Producer credit.
