Online education pioneer, macProVideo.com has entered into the exciting and rapidly growing world of Game Audio with the release of two new courses, Demystifying Game Audio and Implementing Audio in Unity. As the game industry continues its meteoric growth, more and more music and audio professionals are veering into that field. macProVideo.com’s Publisher, Steve Horelick recognized the trend and reached out to two renowned musicians and audio engineers, Steve Horowitz and Scott Looney, to lead these groundbreaking courses.

Steve Horowitz is best known for his original soundtrack to the Academy Award nominated film, “Super Size Me”, and has also worked extensively on hundreds of games in a variety of formats. His revolutionary work in interactive entertainment has garnered him Grammy, Webby and BDA awards.

Horowitz led the first title, Demystifying Game Audio and describes it as “a comprehensive exploration of all phases of sound for games, including music composition and integration, sound effects, sound design, voice over recording, and asset implementation. It also provides important workflow and industry conventions necessary for understanding how the field of sound for games and interactive media differs from film, TV, and other linear media.”

The second course in the series, Implementing Audio in Unity is led by Scott Looney, who has been teaching at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco since 2005. He pioneered the University’s Graduate and Online Web/New Media Department Audio Curriculum and is now teaching classes in the Music and Sound Production for Visual Media (MUS) Department.

Says Looney, “expanding on the skills taught in Demystifying Game Audio, Implementing Audio in Unity will show the viewer how to take the sounds they've created and fully wire them into a game engine environment. It also provides a detailed examination of the Unity interface and its ability to work with sound, as well as an introduction to scripting. These tools will improve the user’s ability to integrate their audio effectively.”

The courses are now available on macProVideo.com and can be both streamed in HD on their web player and through HD downloads. For more information, please visit macProVideo.com.
