Reykjavík, Iceland – Music festivals come and go, but not many can offer the unique concept of a start-up in Iceland, that’s already attracted the likes of Massive Attack and dozens more epic international acts.

Secret Solstice Festival is set for the weekend of the 20th-22nd of June, which happens to fall during the summer solstice; a time where the sun literally won’t set for an entire 72 hours in Iceland. The concept has drawn massive attention so far globally, with ticket-holders as far away as Australia already confirming attendance.

However, also major artists that have been attracted to the concept, due to the appeal of playing at such a unique event.

The festival’s first lineup announcement has already been posted, with over 70 acts named. These include Massive Attack, Woodkid, Kerri Chandler, Carl Craig, Múm, Damian Lazarus, Eats Everything, Aphrohead, Skream, Boddika, Jackmaster, Gorgon City and more. Secret Solstice still have two more major lineup announcements to come, with a goal of having more than 150 artists attend.

Speaking specifically on Massive Attack, it’s the first time the British act has been coerced to Iceland since the 1990s, to the excitement of many locals and foreigners.

The festival will be held in the Laugardalur region of Reykjavík, the most northerly capital city on the planet. Adding to the distinctive event will be features like a volcano-powered geothermal pool within the festival grounds, for use by attendees to relax in, or soak away a party-induced hangover.
