Applied-Acoustics Systems has released the Lounge Lizard Session ($99; Mac OSX/Win), an electric piano instrument that offers effects and four different piano types. Lounge Lizard Session runs as a standalone application and supports DXi, VST, AudioUnits, and RTAS (Mac OS only) plug-in formats. A later update will be available to support Intel-based Mac systems.

Digidesign has shipped Pro Tools LE 7.1.1 and Pro Tools M-Powered 7.1.1 software, offering compatibility with Apple's new Intel-based iMac, MacBook Pro, and Mac Mini computers. The software is available as a free download to registered users of Pro Tools LE 7.0 or higher.

Digidesign has also announced the availability of Pro Tools 101 Official Courseware ($49.99). The textbook includes a DVD-ROM with tutorial files, plug-in installers, and Pro Tools sessions to help customers learn the fundamentals of Pro Tools | HD, LE, or M-Powered systems.

Symetrix has shipped the Lucid GENx192 Ultra-low Jitter Master Clock. The GENx192 can distribute an external Word Clock or AES signal via its fourteen outputs and can handle standard sampling frequencies up to 192 kHz. It can also distribute external rates between 28 Hz and 216 Hz and clean up external clocks with JIF (Jitter Input Filtering) to remove jitter before sending it to the outputs.

Neumann has expanded the Solution-D microphone family by adding digital miniature models KM 183 D, KM 184 D, and KM 185 D. With these digital mini mics, DSP functions can be configured and controlled remotely via the DMI-2 digital microphone interface and the RCS remote control software. Purchase them with or without S/PDIF and AES/EBU Connection Kits.
