Audio-Technica has released the AT4022 ($499 MSRP) omnidirectional condenser microphone and the AT4021($499 MSRP) cardioid condenser microphone.

According to the manufacturer, the AT4022's flat, extended frequency response, high SPL handling, and wide dynamic range make it an ideal mic for recording piano, acoustic guitar, and other acoustic instruments. Its low-mass diaphragm improves transient response and reduces handling and mechanical noise transfer. The AT4022 features an omnidirectional polar pattern, a switchable 80 Hz highpass filter and 10 dB pad, a frequency response of 20-20,000 Hz, and more. The microphone comes with the AT8405a stand clamp for 5/8"-27 threaded stands, a windscreen, and a protective carrying case.

Similarly, the AT4021 is said to be ideal for critical studio and live applications, as well as reproducing low-frequency sounds. This microphone features a flat, extended frequency response, high maximum SPL, wide dynamic range, and low self-noise. According to the company, its low-mass diaphragm improves transient response, increases response bandwidth, and reduces handling and mechanical noise transfer. The AT4021 has a cardioid polar pattern, a switchable 80 Hz highpass filter and 10 dB pad, a frequency response of 20-20,000 Hz, and more. Like the AT4022, this mic comes with the AT8405a stand clamp for 5/8"-27 threaded stands, a windscreen, and a protective carrying case.
