Boss has begun shipping its BR-1600CD Digital RecordingStudio. The BR-1600CD can record eight inputs simultaneously and offerseight phantom-powered XLR inputs. In addition, it can playback 16tracks.

The BR-1600CD includes a CD-RW drive; Drum, Bass, and Loop Phrasetracks; COSM modeling effects, including the Vocal Tool Box; and a 40GB hard drive. Each input includes a compressor, 3-band EQ, and ahighpass filter. The effects include overdrive/distortion, as well asamp and mic modeling. The Vocal Tool Box includes automatic pitchcorrection and a Harmony Sequence function.
