Crack the Code! Music Introduces Two Training Courses

By | Thu, 13 Oct 2011

Crack the Code! Music has introduced two training courses, Writing Music for Film, Television, and Video and Writing Music for Commercials and Promos. Each course focuses on the three essential areas that the company thinks media composers must learn -- business, creative, and marketing. The manufacturer says that students will gain invaluable experience over the course of 10 writing assignments (most are to picture) and receive a detailed critique of each lesson.

Each course includes over 400 pages of instructional materials, with in-depth discussions on the business of music production, setting up a studio, negotiating, contracts, royalties, job pay rates, unions and residuals, licensing, marketing, demo CDs, composer interviews, ad agencies, producers, and directors, and much more. The course also includes VHS and Quicktime/AVI versions of actual film/TV/commercial/promo clips (with SMPTE timecode) to work with, and a CD-ROM of forms and documents.
