M-Audio has announced the Studiophile DSM1 and DSM2 reference monitors with built-in DSP.

Developed in collaboration with Digidesign, the Studiophile DSM series monitors feature an onboard DSP engine that provides clear and accurate audio imaging by compensating for phase differences between the two drivers at the crossover point. In addition, the DSP manages a number of functions that enable you to tailor each speaker to your space and placement needs. According to the manufacturer, the custom-voiced components allow for hours of accurate listening without fatigue.

The monitors also feature analog and digital inputs that support studio-grade audio resolutions of up to 24-bit, 192 kHz; 1-inch Teteron soft fabric; a high-frequency dome with Neodymium magnet and ferrofluid cooling, accurate to 27 kHz; a custom low-frequency driver with an anodized aluminum cone for low distortion; a high-density cabinet that yields good damping and reduced acoustic interference; and more.

M-Audio expects to ship the Studiophile DSM1 and DSM2 in the fourth quarter of 2008 at $649.95 per unit (DSM1) and $749.95 per unit (DSM2). To learn more, visit m-audio.com.
