Mojave Audio has introduced the MA-201fet ($695) cardioid condenser microphone. According to the manufacturer, the MA-201 fet is ideal for recording vocals, dialogue work such as broadcast and voiceovers, acoustic instruments, and choral work. It's also ideal recording for kick drums, bass amps, drum overheads, and orchestras, and for capturing drum room sounds.

This solid state, large diaphragm condenser mic features warm FET circuitry, a Jensen transformer, low noise, a cardioid polar pattern, and a 3-micron thick, 1-inch (in diameter) gold sputtered capsule. The MA-201fet has a frequency response of 20 Hz–20 kHz +/– 3.0 dB, a sensitivity rating of –39 dB, and a distortion rating not to exceed <1% @120 dB SPL or <3% @134 dB SPL. The mic operates on standard 48V phantom power.

Mojave Audio expects to ship the MA-201 fet in September, 2008. For more information, visit mojaveaudio.com.
