Two-time Grammy nominated superstar producer/DJ Avicii, aka Tim Bergling, will release #TRUE, an album of all new studio music, on September 17th in the U.S. on PRMD Music/Island Def Jam Records. Despite global successes in concert, on the radio and in video, this will be Avicii’s first full album ever. #TRUE was recorded in Los Angeles and Stockholm, where Avicii collaborated with an eclectic group of artists including Aloe Blacc, Michael Einziger from Incubus, blue grass singer Dan Tyminski, Nile Rodgers, and the legendary Mac Davis. The first single, “Wake Me Up,” is available June 25 on iTunes. The track is already Top 10 in ten international markets and #1 in Sweden, Denmark , Finland and the Netherlands. “Wake Me Up” retains the hallmarks of Avicii’s production in its driving beat, rousing arrangements and uplifting melodies. A scuffed guitar riff adds layers to the rhythm section and a stirring lead synth riff is complimented by rich vocals and storytelling lyrics. “This album really changed the way I think, the way I see music,” said Avicii. “I worked with all these people from different genres. They all bring their own influences into my work and it’s so interesting to hear what comes out.” Ash Pournouri, board member of PRMD Records and Avicii’s manager and creative partner, has guided Avicii in his journey to international superstar in just a few years.
