The latest addition to AKG's Perception Series of microphones is the Perception 150, a small-diaphragm condenser microphone with a cardioid polar pattern. It features an all-metal body, a switchable pad, a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range, and includes a stand adaptor. The Perception 150 is the first in the series to be a front-address model. It's also the smallest in the family—the Perception 100, 200, and 400 models feature a one-inch diaphragm, whereas the Perception 150 has a half-inch diaphragm.

Native Instruments has a new controller compatibility program meant to help you find the right controllers for your Traktor-based setups. As part of this program, selected digital DJ controllers are now labeled "Traktor Ready" and "Traktor 3 LE Included." MORE.

SM Pro Audio has unveiled the Stage Buddy ($995), an expandable monitoring control system with onboard EQ, signal limiting, and reverb. In its simplest form, the system consists of one master unit and four remote Stage Buddy units, which can be connected either directly to the master or daisy-chained to each other using standard CAT5 network cables. Steinberg Media Technologies' current VST instruments are now compatible with Intel-based Macs. The updated VST instruments include HALion, HALion Player, HALion Player OEM, the Grand 2, HALion Symphonic Orchestra, HALion String Edition 2, Hypersonic 2, Virtual Bassist, and Virtual Guitarist 2. The updates are available now through Steinberg's Web site.
