Version 1.5 of Arturia's Minimoog V brought you a close emulation of the original Minimoog, with improved filters, oscillators, and envelopes. Now with Minimoog V 1.6 (Mac/Win), you get those features with the added bonus of Universal Binary support, VST 2.4/Cubase 4 capability, better factory presets, and an oscillator bug fix. Registered users may download the free update from Arturia.

Cakewalk has released the second round in the series of Expansion Packs for Rapture and Dimension Pro synthesizers (Mac/Win). MORE.

The drumming fanatics of Hyper-Bass have created the self-named Hyper-Bass pedal ($174.99), a multi-triggered electronic pedal that delivers a beat on both the downstroke and upstroke. According to Hyper-Bass, the pedal is meant to increase the speed of a drummer's feet and make playing easier at the same time. If you buy a pedal online, you will be entered in a giveaway contest to receive one for free.

The McDSP ML4000, a high resolution limiter and multiband dynamics processor, is now shipping on its own (($495) and in Emerald Pack HD ($2,595) and Native ($1,395) plug-in bundles. (Current Emerald Pack customers can buy it as an upgrade for $295.) The ML4000 consists of two plug-ins: the ML1 mastering limiter which uses a flexible brick wall look-ahead design, and the ML4 multiband gate, expander, and compressor that gets fed into the ML1.

Now shipping through Kaysound is the SM Pro Audio M-Patch 2, a compact, desktop/rack-mountable passive volume attenuator and patch control device. MORE.
