Propellerhead Software has announced Record ($299), new recording software that combines a software mixer console with a customizable rack of audio processing gear.

According to the manufacturer, Record was designed with musicians in mind, with ease of use being the main focus. Said to be as simple to use as a tape deck, Record offers a built-in, virtual Line 6 POD for guitar amps and cabinets; a software mixer modeled after the SSL 9000K, with flexible routing, dynamics, EQ, advanced effects handling and complete automation; and dynamic multicore audio handling.
