Sterling Audio has announced the new ST69 Tube Condenser microphone ($599). According to the manufacturer, the ST69 is ideal for recording vocals, acoustic instruments and drums.

The ST69's Class-A tube triode design features a Groove Tubes GT6205—a low-noise, low-heat, subminiature tube that is said to combine the classic tube tone with increased transparency and reliability. The microphone's 1-inch, double-sided multi-pattern capsule features a gold-evaporated, 3 micron-thick Mylar diaphragm, along with the Disk Resonator system, which provides the mic with accurate transient response and detail. Furthermore, the ST69 features omnidirectional, cardioid and figure-8 patterns; selectable -10 dB pad and 75 Hz,12 dB/octave highpass filter; a custom-wound nickel-core output transformer; and a brushed stainless steel body.
