TC Electronic has announced the MD3 Stereo Mastering package (Mac/Win: $995) for PowerCore, which includes production and mastering tools previously available only in the System 6000. The MD3 Stereo Mastering package, which includes MD3 Multiband Dynamics and BrickWall Limiter, will be available on September 1, 2004.

MD3 features a multiband, 48-bit structure and offers a 3-band compressor, an expander, a 4-band parametric EQ, and a limiter, all in one algorithm. MD3 can be configured for stereo or dual mono processing, and it can be used on single sources as well as stereo mixes. The multiband section has an adjustable look-ahead delay for gently processing transients, and the limiter uses a delay to prevent output samples from going above the set threshold.
