Ultimate Sound Bank (USB) is now shipping X-TremeFX (Mac/Win), a virtual instrument that lets you create and triggersound effects. The instrument includes a 3 GB library of effects to getyou started.

The sound files are divided into categories, such as ScienceFiction, Drones & Sub, Natural Sounds, Urban Sounds, Foleys, andMusical Effects. In addition, X-Treme FX includes a number of preset“scenes,” which automatically load an ensemble of relatedsounds.

X-Treme FX is powered by USB’s UVI Engine, which places thesound shaping controls in a single window for ease of use. Theinstrument, which supports VST, RTAS, AudioUnits, MAS, DXi, andMachFive, is distributed in North America by ILIO Entertainments.
