Ultrasone Inc. has released its new Zino ($129) portable headphones, designed for use with Apple iPods, MP3 players and other portable music players.

The Zino features Ultrasone S-Logic and ULE safe listening technologies, two 40 mm gold-plated drivers, and a foldable design for easy storage and safe transportation. Its gunmetal black, brushed aluminum ear cups and silver-colored, diamond-cut aluminum nameplates lend a modern look to the headphones.

According to the manufacturer, S-Logic technology employs decentralized drivers that direct audio to the listener's outer ear, rather than the ear canal, giving you a natural surround experience in a stereo headphone while reducing sound pressure on the eardrums by 40 percent. MU-Metal shielding (ULE technology) reduces the amount of radiation directed to the listener by up to 98 percent.
