Yamaha Introduces i88X

Yamaha has introduced the i88X, an mLAN-based audio andMIDI interface that features two mic inputs and six line inputs withA/D converters that support 24-bit, 96 kHz audio. The device includesADAT Lightpipe and S/PDIF I/O allowing for 18 simultaneous inputs andoutputs. The i88X can be used as a stand-alone 18-channel digital I/Oor as an expansion device in an mLAN network.

The first two input channels feature high-performance preamps withphantom power and insert points. The preamps were designed by theengineers who developed Yamaha's DM2000 and 02R96 digital mixingconsoles.
