Understanding Phase Web Clip 3

Web Clip 3: This is an example of an acoustic guitar recorded through two spaced mics. In the first clip, the polarity of one mic has been reversed. The second clip demonstrates the two mics before any change. This is an example of a serious enough phase problem that without the polarity flip, it sounds noticeably more thin, almost as if something in the signal path was broken.
