SAE Institute Adds Value, Opportunities for Students
10/26/2008
SAE Institute, the world leader in audio and multimedia education, continues to
create new value and opportunities for its growing base of students at its 50
campuses around the world. Today, SAE announces the availability of a new global
scholarship portal valued at over $1.5 million; the launch of a new social and
professional networking website, http://www.mySAE.org, which
connects SAE graduates to professional opportunities and to each other; and the
creation of the ground-breaking new Digital Film Production Diploma course of
study. These kinds of innovative new services and learning initiatives set SAE
Institute apart as the global leader in media arts and sciences education.
- http://www.saescholarships.com is a worldwide portal to a
global scholarship program valued at over $1.5 million, via a venture between
SAE Institute and Qantm College (Australia's most successful and innovative
creative digital media educator). SAE campuses from around the world will
participate to offer both need-based and merit-based scholarship awards, for a
combined total of over 190 available scholarships. The scholarships will be
distributed throughout the various regions in which SAE Institute operates:
Asia, Australia, Europe, Jordan, U.A.E. and the United States. In the U.S.,
these scholarships will be available initially for students enrolled in the SAE
Los Angeles and the soon-to-be-opened SAE San Francisco campuses. SAE
Institute's and Qantm College's scholarship program is the initiative of
President, Founder and CEO Dr. Tom Misner and is motivated by the desire to
offer eligible students an exemplary learning environment in the fields of
creative media education.
-
- http://www.mySAE.org is a
recently launched online media community for alumni and friends of SAE
Institute. This unique web-based portal offers participants job resources, local
and regional events and an online marketplace. mySAE.org joins the other
innovative networking and post-graduation resources available to SAE Institute
alumni and students offered by SAE Institute, including the SAE Magazine and SAE
Alumni Association.
- When it
launches in early 2009, the Digital Film Production Diploma course in Los
Angeles will join the three programs currently offered at SAE's campus in the
heart of Hollywood. The Digital Film Production course focuses on the film and
post production career markets, and will cover key technical disciplines
including cameras, editing in FCP and AVID, compositing and color correction.
Drawing its faculty from the talented pool of Hollywood film industry veterans,
students at the SAE Los Angeles campus will learn from writers,
cinematographers, editors, directors and producers who bring decades of "real
world" experience to these comprehensive and detailed courses. The course of
study will focus on intensive hands-on training - a hallmark of the SAE approach
to education - in which students will complete their own short films and
documentaries and work in conjunction with the Audio Technology students, who
will provide ADR, Foley and scoring for these projects.
"All of these new programs and educational initiatives
will bring even more value to an education at SAE," stated Misner. "These
efforts are all part of our continuing strategy to make SAE the finest education
experience possible for media arts and sciences." Headquartered in Oxford, England, SAE Institute is the world's first and
largest network of audio and multimedia education and training centers. SAE is
