BIAS has released Windows
versions of SoundSoap and SoundSoap Pro, in VST and DirectX plug-in formats.

BIAS has also announced special upgrade pricing to Peak 4.1, as well as deals
on SoundSoap, SoundSoap Pro, and Deck 3.5.3. Peak 4.1 is now multi-threaded
and multi-processor optimized and comes with Roxio Jam 6 and SFX Machine LT.
The upgrade
offer expires June 30, 2004.
Camel
Audio has released version 1.302 of its Cameleon 5000 additive synthesizer.
The new features include CPU optimization, over 130 new presets, and bug fixes
of the initial 1.3 release. To enter a contest to win a copy of Cameleon 5000,

Clavia
has announced that it plans to ship the Nord Modular G2X ($3,500), a 5-octave
version of the Nord Modular G2, in August. The G2X features a semi-weighted
keyboard, three modulation wheels with built in LEDs, an XLR microphone input
mounted on the top panel, and voice expansion that gives the G2X twice the processing
power as the G2. In addition, Clavia announced G2 OS version 1.20, available
July 5, which will include Mac OS X support, as well as new modules.
Drums On Demand has announced Upbeat & Aggressive ($79.95), a 2-CD set featuring
1,700 royalty free loops, Loop Layers, and matching single hits in 25 Song Sets.

MOTU has released MachFive 1.2, a maintenance update which brings feature parity
and the same version number to both Mac and Windows platforms. The update, free

has introduced the Dual DeltaFex digital effects processor, which can be configured

Producer has introduced the MIDI Hubble ($79), which combines a USB MIDI
interface and a three-way USB 1.1 hub.

Mackie has announced that
support for the Mackie Control Universal Extender is part of version 2.2 of
Cubase SX, SL, and Nuendo.
PMI Audio Group is now
shipping the Joemeek threeQ ($299.99), a channel strip that includes mic and
line inputs, a photo-optical compressor, a 3-band "meekqualizer," an insert
jack, and separate preamp and output gain controls.
Scarbee
has made the Imperial Drums collection available in the Kontakt (version 1.53)
format. It's a free update for registered HALion 2 users. MORE.
Steinberg has announced
that its Nuendo DTS Encoder plug-in (Mac/Win) is now available. The plug-in
can export DTS WAV files, which allows you to burn encoded files to CD for playing
a DTS stream through the digital output of a CD player. In addition, the Nuendo
DTS Encoder can create discreet WAV files of the exported audio and automatically
place them on newly created tracks in a Nuendo project.
WilliamK
and Wusik.com have unveiled Wusikstation VSTi (Win, $99.95; preorder $70.95),
a hybrid vector synth with a wavesequencer sampler. According to the company,
users can convert any WAV file to the WusikSND format for use in the synth.
The final release will come with a library of 512 presets and 400 MB of sample
data.

Arturia is now shipping Storm 3.0 (Mac/Win; $149). The update includes a new sound module, a piano roll, and a more expandable rack section. Storm's virtual instruments are playable using a MIDI controller, and the program supports ReWire, slave and master MIDI sync, 96 kHz audio, and the ability to import or export MIDI files.
Cakewalk has announced an alliance with UmixIt Technology that lets music buyers make their own mixes of songs by their favorite artists. UmixIt delivers music in a patented format that provides discrete, 8-channel multitrack music so consumers can create their own mix.

Digigram has resized its PCX924v2, PCX22v2, and VX222v2 stereo sound cards to the compact, short-length PCI format (6.875 inches). The shorter sound cards are fully compatible with existing drivers.
GarageBand.com has announced that it will offer the Creative Commons Music Sharing License as an optional tag for all songs uploaded to its Web site. The license, provided by the non-profit group Creative Commons, permits fans not only to download music files, but also to copy and share them, as long as they don't make commercial uses or alter the work. MPCsounds.com has announced Orchestral Percussion, a new sound library for the Akai MPC1000, 2000, XL, 3000, LE, and 4000 drum machines.

M-Audio has introduced the Studiophile DX4 amplified monitors ($199.95), featuring a 4-inch low-frequency driver, a 1-inch Mylar tweeter, and an 18W amplifier. The shielded monitors include 1/4-inch and RCA inputs and a 1/8-inch headphone jack.
M-Audio has also announced the Keystation 61es (Mac/Win; $199.95), a 5-octave semi-weighted, Velocity-sensitive keyboard controller with USB support. Performance controls include a pitch bend wheel, modulation wheel, sliders, and an assignable foot pedal connection.
Native Instruments has announced that it is now shipping Xpress Keyboards (Mac/Win).
Planet Waves has introduced the Classic Series, an entry-level cable line consisting of instrument, speaker, and microphone cables. According to the manufacturer, the Classic Series comes in the same packaging as the gold-plated Custom Series cable line, but the design is toned down to a two-color look to invoke a classic, utilitarian feel.

Sabine has introduced two new tuners, the NexTune 6z Guitar & Bass Tuner ($24.95) and the NexTune 12z Chromatic Tuner ($34.95).

Ableton has announced Live 4 (Mac/Win, $499), which adds MIDI tracks, effects, and instruments to this popular digital audio sequencer. The new features extend Live's real-time capabilities to encompass a wider range of music production techniques.

Digidesign has also announced a special upgrade offer to new and existing Reason Adapted owners (Reason Adapted is bundled with all Pro Tools systems). Now through August 31, 2004, Reason Adapted owners can upgrade to the full version of Reason 2.5 for $299, which is a savings of $100 off retail price. Digital Audio Labs has announced the CDX-D8 (Win), a single 3/4-length PCI card and breakout cable which provide eight discreet channels of AES/EBU audio on four XLR stereo pairs. Also included are word clock I/O on RCA connectors and two analog outputs on balanced 1/4-inch TRS connectors. The CDX-D8 supports sample rates from 32 kHz to 96 kHz, 16- and 24-bit resolution, Dolby Digital AC-3, and MME and ASIO drivers.
FlexiMusic is offering Wave Editor (Win), an inexpensive audio editor.
