Norwegian Cosmic disco maestro Hans-Peter Lindstrøm typically constructs tracks in which time takes on physicality, in which subtly shifting frameworks supplant crescendos. On his third solo album, his first since 2009 collaborations with Christabelle and Prins Thomas, Lindstrøm has revved past celestial cruising, allowing organ runs, squelchy bass, horn stabs, his own treated vocals, and other retro-futuristic details to dynamically contrast rather than just coalesce. There’s heightened elasticity and gently gnarled tones, resulting in a more funkoriented mutant boogie propelled by pneumatic thrusts.
