VSL Offers Vienna Dimension Strings – Cello Section
The Vienna Symphonic Library team is pleased to announce the release of the Cello Section of their magnum opus Vienna Dimension Strings. The section includes recordings of a six piece cello ensemble that has been captured with individual microphones for each instrument, allowing for precise access to each voice. Registered users of Vienna Dimension Strings may download the updated library portion from the User Area of the company’s website. New users may benefit from a special Early Bird Offer. Early Bird OfferCustomers who take advantage of the current Early Bird Offer will receive a full license of Vienna Dimension Strings for just US-$895 (instead of $1,430) and may download both the Violin and Cello Sections (Full Libraries) right away. They will receive the Viola and Double Bass Sections as they become available, free of charge. One week after the release of the Cello Section, the Early Bird Price of Vienna Dimension Strings will increase to $955 on July 1, 2013.More than 200,000 Cello SamplesThe new Cello Section adds more than 200,000 high-end samples to Vienna Dimension Strings, whose Violin Section has been available since fall 2012. Together, the two ensembles now exceed half a million samples, resulting in an estimated one million for the full library once the Viola and Double Bass Sections are included.Ensemble Recordings with Six Players And Individual MikingThe Vienna Dimension Strings Cello Section consists of six players that have been recorded together as a homogenous group, but with individual microphones for each player. This way all of the human interactions and slight imperfections of a live performance have been captured while still allowing for an individual access to each player of the ensemble. Changes in dynamic levels, vibrato, intonation and the timing of the players within a group can be achieved easily by assigning individual controllers such as velocity crossfades and expression. Like the Violin Section of Vienna Dimension Strings, each string of each instrument has been captured in its full range and with ready-made presets, such as “force strings” or “use/avoid open strings”, which allows users to easily create their customized cello ensemble sound. Advanced features such as pre-configured divisi sections with flexible groupings, e.g., 3 desks with 2 players each or 2 groups with 3 players each are provided when using the current version of the Vienna Instruments PRO player. Unprecedented Variety of ArticulationsThe Vienna Dimension Strings Cello Section comes with the same variety of articulations as the existing Violin Section. Three different sustains (non-vibrato, vibrato, and progressive vibrato) that are fully controllable via crossfades, Legato, Portamento and Trill Performances, Repetition Performances (legato, portato, staccato, spiccato, various crescendos and “harsh” fortissimos), various tremolos (normal, slow, and with fast attack), pizzicato, snap pizzicato, col legno and more. Finger noises (sounds, obtained from shifting positions on the fingerboard) as well as ambient noises (such as breathing, positioning of the instrument, chair noises, browsing of sheet music) complete the wide range of articulations, resulting in an even more realistic sonic impression, particularly in quiet musical passages.About the Vienna Symphonic Library The Vienna Symphonic Library is an innovative, research-driven music software and sample library developer based in Vienna, Austria.
