Chuck Israels played bass with the Bill Evans Trio from 1961 through 1966.

Garritan Libraries has announced a free online jazz arranging course called "Exploring Jazz Arranging."

Based on an interactive version of an upcoming book by composing/arranging/bass-playing legend Chuck Israels, this course provides audio-video examples and uses more than 100 animated scores to teach 20 lessons. The course is available online, and you can listen to the music and visually follow the score at the same time. Online discussion forums for each lesson provide additional assistance.

According to Garritan Libraries, this course is currently being used in the Juilliard School of Music's course in Jazz Arranging. Because "Exploring Jazz Arranging" is an online course, you can begin a lesson or pick up where you left off at any time. Click here to access the free jazz arranging course.
