NuSofting HarpTime VST Now Available

By | Tue, 16 Mar 2004

NuSofting HarpTime VST (Win) was designed specifically to reproduce the sound of folk and ethnic harps. According to the manufacturer, it uses an advanced physical-modeling synthesis engine that individually models twelve strings.

HarpTime models the sound of the Celtic harp, as well as plucked-string instruments from Japan, Paraguay, and Africa. Two versions of the instrument are available: the Fun version offers a global string parameter set, which affects all strings; the Pro version lets you control each of the individual strings.

The player has control over the maximum energy sent to each string, the tuning of each string (±100 cents), the position where the string is plucked, and tone. String vibrato is created using LFO-controlled pitch modulation. A double lowpass/bandpass filter and a stereo chorus are also included.
