Reverb SYNC Roland D-50 Ableton Instrument Rack
Just in time for the arrival of Roland’s D-05 Linear Synthesizer that was announced on #909day 2017, Reverb Sync, the software branch of Reverb.com, offers its Roland D-50 Ableton Instrument Rack for users of Ableton Live 9 Suite. This rack of Ableton Sampler and Analog instruments plus Chorus and Reverb effects simulates key features of the original D-50 from 1987.

Using three multi-sampled waveforms directly from vintage Roland D-50s and rack-mounted D-550 units, the Instrument Rack creates the instantly recognizable electric pianos and chorused guitar hits that colored many pop hits and other genres in the late ‘80s.

Reverb Sync may be releasing an upgraded paid version of this Instrument Rack soon with more options and raw waveforms, but for now this free 60MB download for Mac or PC sounds pretty cool and has Ableton macros set up for instant playability.

Bionik’s Hypnotic Magnetism Sample Pack
The Minneapolis producer/engineer Bionik has been toiling in the trenches for years, working in genres such as hip-hop, funk & soul with diverse artists ranging from Far East Movement to Phil Collins. For a while now, Bionik has focused on trap and bass music, including his latest single, “Hypnotic Magnetism.” In conjunction with that song, Bionik has now released a 220-sample, 126 MB sample pack with many drum & percussion, bass, FX, and other sounds from his Hypnotic Magnetism EP sessions.

From the Bandcamp page, you can preview the samples, as well as download the pack for free or “pay what you want.” Bionik has also put out a video on his Facebook page with tips on creating your own sample pack, including why he likes to use Bandcamp to distribute them.

Wave Alchemy Berlin Techno Free Samples
Berlin has been the beating heart of European techno for a long time, and a current resurgence is proving that the sound both ages well and still has some new tricks up its sleeve. The new Wave Alchemy Berlin Techno ($29.95) jams 1.5GB of hard-hitting techno drums, synths, basses, top lines and sound effects from Berlin into one package that’s on sale for 15% off the regular price until September 15. The pack is organized into loops, one-shots, MIDI files for melodic material, an Ableton live pack, and drum kits for several other formats.

But like many of Wave Alchemy’s products, you can get a free 58-loop, 62MB sampler from Berlin Techno just by registering for a Wave Alchemy account. The free pack contains a variety of 2-measure, 125bpm loops taken from the larger pack. From these, you really get a flavor of the harsh and driving style of Berlin techno that makes it stand out. To get the free sampler, go to the Berlin Techno main product page, and click Free Sounds. There you can also hear several audio demos.
