Elektra/Atlantic recording group Kaleo have announced a new run of North American dates, including Lake Buena Vista, FL; Calgary, AB, Canada; Vancouver, BC, Canada; two Seattle, WA dates; and San Francisco, CA. Judah & The Lion will support on all dates except Lake Buena Vista, FL. The dates are in addition to Kaleo’s tour supporting the Lumineers, running February 28-March 31, 2017. Last Friday, Kaleo concluded the North American leg of “The Handprint Tour,” their nearly two month headline run, which was almost entirely sold out. The band has sold more than 50,000 tickets to their headline shows worldwide in the last two years.
On Thursday, Kaleo will return to Europe for a fully sold out “Handprint Tour” kicking off in Glasgow and concluding in Amsterdam on November 30th.
Kaleo’s #1 alternative hit, “Way Down We Go,” is featured as the main title track in the upcoming New Line Cinema feature film Collateral Beauty, in theatres 12/16, starring Will Smith, Edward Norton, and Keira Knightley. The song has remained in the top 10 at alternative radio for 36 weeks and counting.
Known for their beautifully-shot performance videos showcasing their homeland of Iceland, Kaleo most recently released a video of the song “Save Yourself” shot on an iceberg in Fjallsárlón lagoon. The video followed “Way Down We Go” shot in a volcano and “I Can’t Go On Without You” shot in an old church in the dead of winter.
Relix named Kaleo one of their “5 Artists You Should Know About” in the issue out now. Earlier this year, Rolling Stone named them one of their “10 Artists You Need To Know.”
